This exclusive space invites enthusiasts and collectors to embark on a journey of whisky exploration and refinement.
William Grant & Sons, the revered family-owned distillery, has inaugurated The Distillers Library in Jakarta, marking a milestone in Indonesia’s whisky landscape. At the heart of the newly opened space is a retail store showcasing flagship expressions like Glenfiddich and The Balvenie.
Guests are guided by brand ambassadors through a curated experience of learning and discovery. Will Peacock, Global Luxury Director at William Grant & Sons, emphasise the library’s role in meeting the rising demand for luxury malts in Indonesia, providing a space for mindful discovery, whether one is a novice or a seasoned collector.
The library echoes the Grant family’s legacy that began in 1887 when William Grant established his first distillery. The group’s most celebrated brand, as well as the world’s oldest single malt, Glenfiddich, which has excelled for over 130 years since it first ran from the stills on Christmas Day of 1887. The library also introduces limited bottling of The Balvenie, known for its distinctive taste and dedication to five rare crafts.
A highlight of the launch is the Ladyburn Edition One, a 54-year-old whisky, and only one of 11 sets in the world, from the ghost Ladyburn distillery, which closed in the 1970s. This highly collectable piece of history, captured in partnership with photographer David Bailey and his personal collection in London, symbolises the library’s commitment to offering unique and compelling experiences.
The Distillers Library promises a continuously updated portfolio of exceptionally rare expressions from William Grant & Sons’ reserves. Beyond Ladyburn, guests can anticipate future limited-edition collections and precious whiskies, solidifying The Distillers Library as Jakarta’s premier destination for the finest in the world of whisky.
