Wild Turkey Straight Rye Whiskey is an 81 proof (40.5% alcohol) ode to America’s first distilled spirit: rye whiskey. When making Wild Turkey Rye, we use a deeper, “alligator” char for extra flavor. Master Distiller Jimmy Russell’s love of mid-aged bourbons is no secret. To reflect his father’s tastes, Eddie hand-selected barrels aged between 9 and 10-years-old. To reflect his own passion for the complex characteristics that come with older bourbons, Eddie selected a small batch of carefully aged 14-year-old whiskey. He artfully crafted these two profiles into one with a second maturation in new oak barrels specially toasted and charred.
