Gran Reserva

GRAPE VARIETY Escudo Rojo Gran Reserva is a blended wine made from five different grape varieties. Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) and Cabernet Franc (5%), traditional Bordeaux varieties, give refinement and tannic power, while Carmenere (35%), Syrah (14%) and Petit Verdot (6%) bring body, density and a touch of spice.
COLOR Brilliant, intense ruby-red with purple highlights.
NOSE Very intense and fruit-laden, with a combination of red and black fruit notes of blackcurrant, blueberry and prune that mingle with spicy aromas of nutmeg, clove, and black and green pepper, underpinned by perfectly integrated, subtle aromas of toffee, cedar and coffee imparted by oak ageing.
TASTE full-bodied wine, seductive on entry, with an unctuous, rich mid-palate. Finely structured, elegant, with a smooth, silky texture. The aftertaste offers echoes of blueberry and prune fruit aromas, and good acidity makes for a very long, persistent finish.

Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon

GRAPE VARIETY This wine is made entirely from the same grape variety even though the requirement under chilean law is only 75%. Cabernet Sauvignon gives balanced wines with well-rounded tannins and blackcurrant, pepper and liquorice flavours. The wines have considerable ageing potential and their structure becomes rounder with time.
COLOR Brilliant, ruby-red with delicate purple highlights.
NOSE Extremely intense fruit, with notes of graphite, blackcurrant, and red fruit such as cherry, combined with soft spicy hints of black pepper and cardamom, interlaced with smooth notes of vanilla imparted by barrel ageing.
TASTE Starts out very good, fresh and fruity with refreshing acidity. Very soft, silky and melt-in-the-mouth tannins emerge mid-palate. Red fruit aromas return on the aftertaste, accompanied by a long, persistent finish.

Reserva Carmenere

GRAPE VARIETY This wine is made entirely from the same grape variety even though the requirement under Chilean law is only 75%. Carmenere gives rich and slightly tannic wines with red fruit and liquorice flavours. Smooth and creamy, Carmenere wines soon reach their peak.
COLOR Deep, matte, bright purple.
NOSE Very intense and fruity, with notes of black fruit like blackberry and plum mixed with spicy nuances of roasted red pepper, cloves, bay leaf, rosemary, and subtle aromas of chocolate, toffee and roasted coffee beans due to ageing in French oak.
TASTE Starts out smooth, refreshing and juicy with well-balanced acidity. The tannins are elegant, refined and silky. Black fruit aromas of black cherry and blackberry follow through to the aftertaste, culminating in a long finish.

Reserva Chardonnay

GRAPE VARIETY Escudo Rojo Chardonnay is made entirely from the same grape variety even though the requirement under Chilean law is only 75%. Chardonnay is a classic grape with a highly distinctive personality that makes it the world’s most sought-after variety. It gives rich, well-balanced and complex wines with ripe tropical fruit aromas.
COLOR Straw yellow, with bright golden hints.
NOSE A very intense and complex nose with hints of citrus such as grapefruit, orange blossom, orange peel, some nuances of melon, and soft aromas of marzipan, hazelnuts and walnuts thanks to barrel ageing.
TASTE The wine starts out fresh and very deep, lovely mid-palate, good volume and body with excellent acidity and a creamy texture. The fruity aromas follow through to the after-taste (grapefruit, orange peel) and the finish is long and persistent.

Reserva Sauvignon Blanc

GRAPE VARIETY Escudo Rojo Reserva Sauvignon Blanc is made entirely from the same grape variety even though the requirement under Chilean law is only 75%. Sauvignon Blanc gives vivacious dry wines of great refinement.
COLOR Very bright with a lovely pale-yellow colour and greenish highlights.
NOSE A marvellous, complex and high intensity nose. Aromas of boxwood, Peruvian green sauce, passion fruit and orange blossom, mixed with herbaceous notes such as tomato leaf and wild herbs.
TASTE Very fresh and mineral with a powerful start, good volume and body. Juicy, with wonderful length, thanks to crisp acidity.
The finish presents fruity aromas such as passion fruit and guava making for a delicious wine that invites another sip.

FOOD PAIRING As an aperitif, sole in lemon butter, Carpaccio of scallops, goats cheese.

Reserva Syrah

GRAPE VARIETY Escudo Rojo Reserva Syrah is made entirely from the same grape variety even though the requirement under Chilean law is only 75%. Producing very high-quality wines, Syrah brings remarkable depth of flavour and rich tannins which improve with age.
COLOR A bright, intense ruby-red colour with purple highlights.
NOSE Deeply intense and fruity, with notes of blackberry and blackcurrant, red berries such as cranberries and spicy aromas of pink peppercorn, combined with soft notes of butterscotch and cedar imparted by oak ageing.
TASTE Starts out excellent with good volume, well-balanced acidity and a very good structure. Fruity aromas of blackcurrant and spicy nuances follow through to the long, lingering finish.

Reserva Pinot Noir

GRAPE VARIETY Escudo Rojo Reserva Pinot Noir is made entirely from the same grape variety even though the requirement under Chilean law is only 75%.
COLOR Cherry-red with delicate ruby-red highlights.
NOSE A very intense, fruity wine with red fruit aromas such as cherry, cranberry, sage and earthy forest floor mingled with smooth nuances of spices and jam, combined with a hint of toasted almonds imparted by barrel ageing.
TASTE Starts out excellent and very refreshing on the palate. Good volume and nice unctuous texture mid-palate. The structure reveals very smooth and elegant tannins. The aromatic complexity and red fruit notes return on the long finish, accompanied by good acidity.
